Don’t be alarmed. This was just an asymptomatic test. I’m taking every possible precaution to make sure I don’t bring covid home to my family at Christmas, especially my 82-year-old parents. I’m on day 12 of my self-imposed isolation and got swabbed this morning as an extra layer of protection. Super fast and efficient, aContinue reading “Grateful – Day 354”

Grateful – Day 353
I’ve always wanted to try one of these pandoro cakes. It’s an Italian cake that shows up in specialty shops at this time of year. But I haven’t wanted to buy the large version. I mean, it’s meant to have a shelf life so I figured how good could it be. I found a miniContinue reading “Grateful – Day 353”
Grateful – Day 352
I dreamed that, in addition to my boys, I also had a dog who I’d completely forgotten about. Hadn’t fed him or let him out to do his business in days. I was horrified and panicking. Then I woke up and realized I’m not negligent. I give all my loves to my two little myContinue reading “Grateful – Day 352”
Grateful – Day 351
I am nothing if not a planner. Ask anyone who knows me. So you should not be at all surprised that, on day 9 of my self-imposed pre-Christmas isolation as I slide from work work work into the weekend when I would normally host a holiday party, I’d thought ahead and made sure I haveContinue reading “Grateful – Day 351”
Grateful – Day 350
Another evening of work and not really anything else. But it’s nice to know that we’re all snug as a bug in a rug in our cozy house with a roasty toasty fire and festive decorations while the snow swirls outside.
Grateful – Day 349
Joined my equally (if not moreso) festively adorned colleagues for a virtual holiday get together and sharing/learning. Normally a feel good event in person was interrupted by the demands of the workday but still bursting with all the feels this year. Everything we’ve been through – some more than others. Everything we’ve contributed – everyoneContinue reading “Grateful – Day 349”
Grateful – Day 348
As I work away in the home office (main floor winter location in front of the fire) I periodically look over my shoulder to see if my co-workers are getting anything done. And they are. Their output in the Cute Production Department is beyond all expectations. Especially when their bellies are full.
Grateful – Day 347
I’ve never had a full-size, live Christmas tree in my office before. Kind of nice, actually.
Grateful – Day 346
I very nearly didn’t get a tree this year. I’m just so focused on work that my mind really isn’t into the holidays. Thought about just putting up my Charlie Brown tree that I normally have at the office. But I thought friends and family might worry about me if I didn’t get a tree.Continue reading “Grateful – Day 346”
Grateful – Day 345
My preparation for 14 days of self-imposed isolation before Christmas could have gone either way – stock up on nothing but the healthiest of food to avoid over indulging or stock up on every treat I could possibly want so that I don’t end up eating every vegetable in sight when all I really wantContinue reading “Grateful – Day 345”
